ISTANBUL TURKEY "MAY '08"

Day 1 - 19th May 2008

Agenda :

12pm (Ireland local time) – From Dublin Airport to Atarturk International Airport, Istanbul. Check in to Sultanahmet Suite for 3 nights. !st day takda activity coz sampai pukul 5pm (local time), so rehatkan badan and save energy for the next 6 days.

Day 2 – 20th May 2008

Agenda :

The Grand Bazaar is one of the largest covered markets in the world with more than 58 streets and 6,000 shops. It is well known for its jewelry, pottery, spice, and carpet shops. Many of the stalls in the bazaar are grouped by type of goods, with special areas for leather coats, gold jewelry and the like. Shopping time... yeah.... pening pening.... kalau ikut hati semuanya nak dibeli....

Day 3 – 21st May 2008

Agenda :

Miniaturk Park is the biggest miniaturk city of the world. You can find the miniatures of more than 100 historical or modern buildings in Turkey and abroad. It is a mark of respect for a long history that strecthes back to thousands of years and is a gift to the history and culture, portrayed in all it’s magnificance in Istanbul, at a site on the Golden Horn.

Cevahir Shopping Centre, is a modern shopping and entertainment centre located in the Sisli district of Istanbul, Turkey. Cevahir Mall is the largest shopping centre in Europe, and the seventh largest in the world.

Fish Market, Abang n Ayie je yang pergi.. Semuanya dah penat so we decided to stay at hotel je... just to get some fish n vegetables to cook for that night.. (nasib baik ada chef, walaupun tak cukup bahan tapi tetap menyelerakan... thanks abang...) After dinner guys had hubble bubble.

Day 4 – 22nd May 2008

Agenda :

Check out from Sultanahmet Suite and check in to Hippodromes Hotel Apartment for 3 nights.

On the way to hotel singgah sebentar di Arasta Bazaar to get some souvenirs.

AyaSofya is a former patriarchal basilica, later a mosque, now a museum, in Istanbul. Famous in particular for its massive dome, it is considered the epitome of Byzantine architecture. It was the largest cathedral in the world for nearly a thousand years, until the completion of the Medieval Seville Cathedral in 1520.

Went to Topkapi Palace (tapi dah tutup) sempat menjamu Turkish Ice Cream (unique).

The Sultan Ahmed Mosque is a historical mosque in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and the capital of the Ottoman Empire (from 1299 to 1923). The mosque is one of several mosques known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior. Like many other mosques, it also comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrasah and a hospice. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque has become one of the greatest tourist attractions of Istanbul and is the largest.

Day 5 – 23rd May 2008

Agenda :

Breakfast on the roof top.

Ayep Sultan town and market, shopping lagi....

The most important and rememberence day. HAPPY 13TH ANNIVERSARY to mama and papa.

The German Fountain is a gazebo styled fountain in the northern end of old hippodrome (Sultanahmet Square), Istanbul and across from the Mausoleum of Sultan Ahmed I. It was constructed to commemorate the second anniversary of German Emperor Wilhelm II's visit to Istanbul in 1898. It was built in Germany, then transported piece by piece and assembled in its current site in 1900. The neo-Byzantine style fountain's octagonal dome has eight marble columns, and dome's interior is covered with golden mosaics.

The Hippodrome of Constantinople was a horse-racing track that was the sporting and social centre of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire and the largest city in Europe. Today it is a square named Sultanahmet Meydanı (Sultan Ahmet Square) in the Turkish city of Istanbul, with only a few fragments of the original structure surviving.

Day 6 – 24th May 2008

Agenda :

Breakfast lagi... nyum nyum... a lot of variety foods to choose...

Bosphorus cruise- set out from the Eminonu ferry boat docks (on the Golden Horn between Galata Bridge and Sirkeci Station) and head north toward the Black Sea. Bosphorus is the strait between the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara it links with the Dardanelles separates Europe from Asia.

New mosque beside spice bazaar.

Spice Bazaar also known as Egytian Bazaar is one of the oldest bazaars in the city. Last minute shopping before balik...

Fasya, Athia, Akeif posing dekat taman bunga ros di Sultanahmet Square.

Agenda :

We had our early breakfast. Head off to Atarturk International Airport.

Flight departed at 11am... bye bye Turkey....
